It was even better than a standard, textbook, 'do nothing' Sunday. Woke up a tad late (3:54 AM), but I just lazed, ate and watched several fucking great movies: 'Captain Phillips' for the second time - awesome - with the impeccable Paul Greengrass as director.

I started that flick last night, but I interrupted it when I saw 'Bullet Train' offered on Netflix. I'd never heard of this flick, but it was fucking EXCELLENT! Fun as fuck, clever, funny, and a joy to behold.

It's a bit daffy, but Brad Pitt grounds its humor - and it has tons of (non-stop) action and gore to boot!

That makes for a happy Sunday for me.

Good day for a Sunday, We went to church this morning and then stopped for lunch at a small café not far from town, the food is good and home cooked and affordable even on a small budget. We talked about the idea of her moving in with me again and I am coming around to it, yes it was her idea and if we are going to really be serious about being together it would make sense, I can sense that she is falling just the same as I am so it would make it easier for us to make sure about how we feel. I mean she has been almost living here so far, she is here most nights and keeps clothes here as well as her toiletries so we are close to that already. Her mom is alright about us being together of course she would be happier if I was closer to her age but she did say that a=she sees that we are being real and it not just about sex.

 

It was busy day.

Phone calls as usual were one after another. It’s crazy how management complains about people not being on available but does nothing other than send a message. Had a quite a a lot of customer appreciate of my service. Had to go home during lunch to pick up a much awaited UPS package.

It was good, overall. I was trying to write, but the phone kept ringing off the hook - many telemarketers, a few clients to put in service tickets for, but I got my Monday blog posted, so I'm all good.

 

Not as time restraining as it’s been the past few weeks. Good day getting lots of errands done before the holidays.

 

I took the kid out of school today and we hung out. We put up the tree and watched movies and decorated. Then we ordered in pizza for dinner.

It was fine - a lot busier than usual - the CEO wanted something to post online ASAP - some big cloud email host company has been down since Friday, and he wanted to capitalize on all the companies that are without email.

So, I cheated a little - in ways that can withstand an allegation of plagiarism - what I call an 'emergency hatchet job', and we got it up pretty damn quickly. Still wrote my blog for tomorrow and several weekly update emails we will send to our clients - these are even harder, because they have to be short but with high impact.

My brain is a bit tired, but I'm already drinking (my brain likes that).

 

One word to describe today is “busy”. Found out everyone was pretty much out today which means phones were non stop. Found out from management that I’m going be training in different area to assist colleagues. Manager was impressed by my ability to multitask and take new roles. Only concern I’m getting paid to do two jobs.

Brother called me later in the day. He asked if I ever applied at local company who is a competitor of my employer. He feels I should apply for them since it’s 5 min away. Applied for them last year and got denied.

Was a lazy day, slobbing around doing very little. I tripped and fell couple of days ago and smashed my nose up a bit. Feeling bit sorry for myself still. Pffft! x x

 

Woke up early to drive from Houston to New Orleans to pick up a few Christmas presents including a special custom perfume for Celia, it was made into a boxed set with bath salts, body butter, powder, deodorant, and a small take along bottle that can be refilled so she can always have it with her. I designed the scent around the things she likes as well as her personal style so she will have a perfume that no one else can have. For her mom I picked up a hand painted porcelain doll because she collects them, these dolls are all made by hand and are highly desired by collectors world wide. My new car has heated cup holders so for my aunt in town I stopped off and picked her up a café au lait and a dozen beignets because I knew I would be back just in time for lunch. The rest of the day was me being lazy and waiting for Celia to come over so we can have the night together.

 

It was too busy.

Normal calls during the day one after another. This morning had my first meeting about new job role and was off phones for an hour. Unfortunately got 3 calls in succession in 10 mins and complained to a manager. It caused me to leave late.

At a zoom meeting with a promising (and sizable) new prospect in the morning, I did a phone call with the CEO to discuss it, and learned he's in Florida for some kind of training - going home on Sunday. So at least I knew he wouldn't be intruding on my day (and he didn't). So I wrote stuff and was happy...
